Bulgarian born, my adventurous nature took me to Los Angeles, where I spent seventeen years of my life. Yet, there is nothing like the Island life on Kauai, where I work and play now.

My journey into the art world didn’t begin like most artists’. Some years ago, an artist invited me to his studio for a fun afternoon of oil painting. After a few hours of music, laughs and play, the image of a human-raven filled up my once-empty canvas. As little as I knew at this time, I had no idea that the image of a raven signifies the  sign of upcoming life change.

Amazed, the artist asked me if I have painted before. He couldn’t believe that I hadn’t. This was a fun game for me; I didn’t look at it seriously but I was pleased that  he was impressed by the outcome. I simply liked how painting made me feel; it was meditation of a sort, an expression of deeply anchored feelings and instant gratification. This was the beginning of a new journey, of which I was clearly unaware.

Busy with a business project at that time, I traveled to New York City  and Chicago. To my surprise, the business turned into a visit to the Art Museum of Chicago and continued with a two weeks of art shopping with Marty Magulies in New York City, followed by a trip to Mass MoCA to attend the Anselm Kiefer Exhibition.The gala reception at the Whitney Museum marked the end of my trip. What an incredible experience to see the art world through the eyes of one of the largest contemporary art collectors in the world…

After my return to Kauai, I bought a set of oil paints and began experimenting. My work begin to evolved noticeably as I kept on discovering new painting techniques and color combinations. It felt so effortless, like I was remembering them from another life. Although, the turning point came after my mind began to access portals of lights to other dimensions and that reflected my work dramatically. It was literally like stepping into another world…
